Municipal Trail Planning, Connectivity & Parcel Optimization

  • Maintained a long-term strategic partnership with the City’s Trails & Open Space Department to advance connectivity and integrate recreation infrastructure within evolving public land holdings.

  • Designed the Freemason Trail to provide a safer off-road alternative to Deer Valley Drive.

  • Led design and construction of the Lynx Trail, strengthening neighborhood connectivity between Park City Heights and Lost Prospector.

  • Designed the five-mile directional uphill route Mother Urban linking Old Town to the Mid Mountain Trail following acquisition of the Treasure Hill Conservation Easement.

  • Maximized the Clark Ranch parcel through development of three downhill, bike-only, eMTB-compatible flow trails—Sparky, Family Truckster, and Cousin Eddie.

‍ WOW Trail & Bonanza to WOW Connector

Inter-County Backcountry Connectivity & Crest Trail Integration

  • Partnered with the Wasatch Trails Foundation on the development of the WOW Trail (Wasatch Over Wasatch), originally envisioned to connect Wasatch County to the Wasatch Crest Trail.

  • Designed and constructed the upper five-mile backcountry segment between 2014 and 2016, while Wasatch State Parks completed the lower five miles.

  • Delivered the organization’s first major backcountry trail project, overcoming significant terrain, access, and logistical challenges in remote high-alpine conditions.

  • Completed the five-mile Bonanza Loop Trail (BLT) to WOW Trail connection, finalizing a twelve-year effort to link Wasatch County, Summit County, and the Wasatch Crest Trail.

Bonanza Flat Conservation Area

High-Alpine Conservation & Recreation Integration

  • Participated in trail planning following the City’s 2017 acquisition of the 1,350-acre Bonanza Flat Conservation Area.

  • Collaborated closely with conservation leadership, including Utah Open Lands, to align recreation planning with long-term ecological protection goals.

  • Helped establish a framework demonstrating how sustainable trail systems and conservation priorities can coexist within protected terrain.

  • Led planning, design and construction of Bloods Lake Trail, Lake Lackawaxen, Io, the Bonanza Loop Trail and Bonanza to Wow Connector.

  • Supported integration of year-round recreation strategy, including winter trail use and grooming operations.

  • Advanced a conservation-forward design philosophy influencing high-alpine trail development in the region.

Private Development Projects

Master Planning & Community-Integrated Trail Systems

  • Led master trail planning and design for Skyridge Mountain Community, Park City Heights, and Pioche (Deer Valley) developments, resulting in 20+ miles of multi-use and user-optimized trails.

  • Collaborated closely with development leadership to position trail systems as high-value community amenities and long-term assets.

  • Produced comprehensive master plan maps and construction layouts; oversaw field implementation both in-house and through subcontractors.

  • Coordinated volunteer participation for final finish work and community engagement.

  • Developed maintenance schedules and executed annual contractual trail maintenance to ensure long-term durability and performance.

Park City Mtn & Deer Valley Resorts

Resort Trail Network Design & Strategic Connectivity

  • Led long-term collaboration with resort leadership to expand and strategically connect lift-access and backcountry trail systems, integrating directional flow, user optimization, and progression-based design.

  • Contributed to layout and design of Jenni’s Trail and initiated routing for Tommy’s Two Step, supporting lift-access connectivity, safe hiking alternatives, and skill-progression experiences.

  • Played a central role in development of major resort connectors including Scott’s Bypass, Three Candles, Blazing Saddle, Charlie’s 9K, Silver Spur, Dawn’s Trail, and the Mid Mountain Extension.

  • Advanced directional, bike-optimized trail design through projects such as Silver Queen, Cyn City, Change Reaction, and Seldom Seen, enhancing flow, safety, and rider experience within high-traffic destination terrain.

Round Valley Open Space

Trail System Transformation & Long-Term Development Strategy

  • Played a leadership role in the long-term transformation of 2,100-acre protected open space into a cohesive, sustainable trail system.

  • Directed restoration efforts including removal of legacy fencing and debris, rerouting of eroded trails, and ecological rehabilitation of previously impacted areas.

  • Led expansion of singletrack network, nearly tripling trail mileage while improving flow, durability, and user experience.

  • Launched winter grooming operations for year-round use.

  • Collaborated with conservation partners and municipal leadership to align recreation growth with long-term land stewardship objectives.

  • Designed and implemented adaptive-friendly trails in partnership with the National Ability Center.
